Jill is the co-founder and President of Project New America. She has over 25 years experience in state and national politics, non-profit management and civic engagement activities. She was the co-founder and Executive Director of The Interfaith Alliance which was established to provide a mainstream faith-based voice in civic and political discourse. She has worked for United States Senators Gary Hart of Colorado, Tom Harkin of Iowa and Barbara Boxer of California. She served as Vice President of the Center for National Policy, a national think tank based in Washington, DC and worked for the Democratic National Committee under Chairmen Paul Kirk and Ron Brown managing the DNC's State Party Fundraising Program. Jill moved back to Colorado with her family in 2000 from Washington, D.C. She has been active in state and local community affairs and politics. She launched Project New West in 2007.

David Winkler is the Research Director at Project New America. He ensures that our products and services meet the diverse needs of clients and subscribers. He has collaborated with over two dozen top research firms to measure public opinion on topics ranging from the issue of college affordability to electoral races at every level in the West and beyond. Before joining PNA, David’s work included extensive experience with political campaigns, ballot measures, issue advocacy, civic engagement and community organizing. David is a contributing author to the book "How the West was Warmed."

Jim Alexee is the Director of Business Development & Strategic Planning at Project New America. A graduate of The Ohio State University with an MBA in finance from The College of William & Mary, Jim has spent more than 10 years working in politics at the local, state, and national levels.

Loranne Ausley

Southern Director
A native of the Florida Panhandle, Loranne has over 25 years of experience in politics and government at the state and national level. From 2000-2008, she served as an elected Member of the Florida House of Representatives, and in 2010 she ran as the Democratic nominee for Chief Financial Officer, one of Florida's four statewide elected Cabinet positions. Loranne has held senior positions in the Clinton Administration in both the Commerce Department and the Department of Housing and Urban Development. She has worked on every aspect of statewide campaigns in several southern states, including her work with Bob Graham, Lawton Chiles, Bill Nelson, Doug Wilder and Mary Sue Terry. Loranne attended college and law school in Virginia, and returned home to Florida to serve as chief of staff to Lt. Governor Buddy MacKay. In 2012, she opened Project New America's southern office in Tallahassee, where she lives with her family.

Avi Aviv

Avi provides fiscal accounting management oversight of PNA's finances and is responsible for financial reporting and budgetary planning. Before joining PNA, Avi relocated from NY where he served as the Financial Controller of Flatrate, Meyers from 2008 to 2010 and as a Private Banking Manager from 2006 to 2008. He was responsible for preparation and monitoring of financial reporting and budgeting of a group of companies in the services industry and cash flow management in the securities and banking industry, accordingly. Avi started in the Public Accounting industry and he has his Bachelor's in Finance and a CPA candidate. Avi is proud to work with the fastest growing market research company in the west.

He has worked at Project New America since July 2012.

Sarah Harris was born and raised in North Florida. Her work and travels have taken her around the world including New Zealand where she served as the personal assistant to the Prime Minister’s husband. For over ten years she was the Communications Director for a public relations and political consulting firm in Tallahassee. In addition to public affairs and lobbying, their work focused on the production and media placement of political advertisements. Sarah has been the administrative arm of PNA’s southern office since the spring of 2012.

Patrice has worked in politics, the nonprofit sector and private sector. She worked for Senators Tim Wirth, Bob Kerrey and also worked for EMILY’s List, The Interfaith Alliance, Planned Parenthood Federation of America and Energize New York. While in the private sector, Patrice worked in the family business for a decade, providing Government Relations, product development and eventually running a subsidiary where she managed over 200 employees and doubled the company’s market share in just over three years.

Jason León is Project New America’s Director of National Outreach based in Washington, DC. León has over a decade of experience in politics at the state, regional and national level in the labor movement, as a Democratic Party operative and Latino strategist. He brings experience integrating research into grassroots organizing and political and civic engagement campaigns and also specializes in ballot measures, vote-by-mail and absentee voting. Prior to PNA, Jason was a senior political staffer for the AFL‑CIO, helping build, execute and manage the labor movement's political program and staff in the Western Region for the 2008 and 2010 elections. With two tours at the Democratic National Committee, most recently Jason was Governor Howard Dean’s Deputy Political Director - responsible for grassroots organizing, overseeing 50-State Strategy for the 2006 election cycle. A native Oregonian, Jason is proud to come out of AFSCME and Council 75’s political team. In 2004 was the Kerry-Edwards campaign’s Oregon Political Director and also worked for Congresswoman Darlene Hooley in OR-5. León has served on various boards and commissions; appointed by Oregon Gov. John Kitzhaber to the state’s Commission on Hispanic Affairs and State School Superintendent Susan Castillo’s statewide education advisory team.

April worked for 21 years at AFT-Oregon starting out as a Clerk Typist and advanced to Associate Director of Administration and Finance. She moved to Denver to join her partner and has been working at Project New America since July 1, 2012. She is the proud mother of two daughters, Amanda and Holly.

Holly Savage

Holly Savage joined the Project New America team in spring 2009. Since then, she has been involved in PNA’s marketing, office management, and administrative assistance. Holly currently is the Director of Civic Engagement at PNA where she works with all of PNA’s Civic Engagement subscribers and research projects. She is also the Deputy Executive Director of Project New America Education Fund, a not-for-profit organization that conducts research and training programs for foundations, nonprofits, and civil society organizations. Before joining PNA, Holly worked with the Iowa Democratic Party and the Biden for President Campaign in Iowa. Her focus in Iowa politics was on constituency building and organizing. Prior her career in civic and political engagement, Holly spent several years as a graduate student and teacher at the Universities of Colorado and Iowa.
